What have we been up to??

For those of you who may not know, Dave went back to work last Friday. We were excited he was well again and his knee is healed. But we were sad that our 4 month vacation from life ended. So, the kids and I have been doing LOTS of fun things to stay busy such as......

Sidewalk chalk, (aka coloring Steven with chalk)

Coloring time,

And LOTS of playtime

And also, pretending to make our beds.......

I guess I should be thankful he at least tried, Right?

Lazy summer days.......

The past few weeks for us have been kind of lazy. Its getting VERY hot down here and it just gets to a point where its not fun to do much of anything that involves the outdoors. So our solution is to swim in the pool and eat Popsicles. Sounds good right? The kids seem to think so anyways. They have been having a blast! Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Shopping this week

Earlier in the week I went to CVS and Target. Not a super great week of sales. But I still managed to find a few goodies.

First stop was CVS. I LOVE CVS. Love love love.

To start out I had an $8.00 credit at the store.
The total for all in the picture was $8.11 so after my store credit I paid $0.11 and saved $34.63

Next stop was Target.

I was VERY excited because on the target coupon website there was a coupon for $5.00 off any C9 apparel and there were reports of their workout pants on clearance for $4.98 making them free!

Sure enough I got there and I found a pair in my size! Woo Hoo!
So I got free pants and C9 Socks. I saved $29.27 and I paid $6.24. The crayola 3D chalk is $4.00 this week so I thought Jake would really enjoy that.

Jake-isms (again)

What can I say? Jake cracks me up! Sometimes I have NO IDEA where he comes up with the stuff he says.

So we went to HEB yesterday and the boys stayed in the car while I ran in to grab some milk. The following conversation took place in the truck. I would also like to mention that I was gone for MAYBE 7 minutes.
Jake: Daddy?
Dave: Yes Jake?
Jake: Mommy sure is taking a long day in the store isn't she?

Then, we went to Wing Stop (they have 50 cent wings on Monday and Tuesday)
Again, I ran in while the boys stayed in the truck.

Jake: Hey, I see mommy coming out! Wait, that's not mommy! That's a lady guy! (the guy that came out had kind of girly hair so I guess it really confused Jake)

Jake: Look mommy! I'm dancing with my booty!!

Lowes Kids Clinic

So for a couple of months now Every other Saturday or so, we have been taking Jakers to the Kids Clinic at Lowes. It's FREE workshop program for kids and they have these cute little kits and hammers that they get to make their projects with. Jake gets a certificate and a little badge after he finishes the project. This past Saturday he built a Ball Cup game (I forgot the real name). He had a lot of fun and Daddy came with us which was great! So here is the finished project.

This is Jakes silly face......

Oh come on boys, PLEASE SMILE. If you do, I will give you a fruit snack!

There it is! See, just bribe your kids and they will do anything.

To walmart we go!

So we just got back from Walmart not to long ago. And although it was EXTREMELY busy, I managed to get some SWEET deals.

First transaction,
Kellogs Cinnabon cereal (my kids LOVE this)
$1.00 ea
Yogurt
$0.37 ea
Pullups wipes
$0.64 ea
I spent $5.30 and saved $10 bucks

Now, for the deal I was REALLY EXCITED about.............

Target has Airwick starter kits on sale this week for $4.49ea. I also have a $4.00 off Airwick coupon which would make them $0.49 ea! But buy the time I made it over to Target, they were completely out! So I snatched a rain check. But then I realized I could take the Target ad to good ol Walmart and they would be more than happy to assist me with a price match (ha!). After about 10 minutes and after the cashier asked 5 other cashiers what she should do, she finally gave me the price match. So I paid $3.18 and SAVED $38.88!! Woohoo! These make great housewarming gifts!

Have a great weekend!
