Thanksgiving and Black Friday

We postponed Thanksgiving to Saturday for a couple of reasons, because Dave had to work and I figured I'd be running around snatching up black Friday deals. But the real reason I postponed? Because I was waiting for a package. A package my friends, that contained the number one thing I HAVE TO HAVE on Thanksgiving. Green Olives.

They are as much a part of Thanksgiving as the turkey. So when my package arrived on Friday morning I was MORE than thrilled! We had a green light for Turkey celebration!

Green Olives, the world may never understand the relationship Johnson children have with them. But that's ok. I don't need the world to understand. I just need my green olives. Period.

So, we started the day with donuts. Because that's how any good day starts. With a sugar crash....

(1 donut in and Steven is already crashing. Lightweight.)

Then we made these cute little turkeys for the kids

Then we cooked this....

The turkey was especially good this year. Not that I'm bragging or anything. Maybe a little....

I took this picture because I though it looked pretty..or maybe it reminded me of snow....

I LOVE this cranberry sauce. It is the perfect complement to turkey

Then we stuffed our faces!

Here are me and the kiddos post-Thanksgiving
(daddy isn't in the picture because he was asleep on the floor)

After daddy woke up we went SHOPPING!

I got this Thomas train set for $2.50! Originally $25.00! Great price!

I got this AWESOME Yo Gabba Gabba dance party DVD for $5 bucks at Target!

Then we went to Michaels because their ribbon was 70% off! I have to say I was disappointed. I was hoping to stock up big time. But I found only a few that I liked. The basket was 40% off and is perfect for our donation of pet food to the humane society.

While we were in Mcallen we stopped at a furniture outlet and found this...

A TV stand! Woo Hoo! Now Dave could FINALLY put up his new TV. It took us 2.5 hours to put together, but it was worth it.

Oh, and while we were putting together the TV stand we had some pie!

The cheesecake turned out great!

I LOVED the cheesecake! and Dave LOVED the pumpkin pie! So there ya go.

Hope yall had a good turkey day too!!

The last of the shopping...until "Black Friday"

There were some pretty great sales this week!! I didn't have time to take advantage of all em' since my teeth were still causing me pain. But I did pretty good!

Here is my Target trip

I had 5 olay coupons left, so I got those

The Leap Tag books were on sale B1G1 FREE! (we decided to get Jake a LeapFrog Tag reading system for Christmas)

The Gerber formula was FREE PLUS $1.65 in overage each! I guess a lot of people have been complaining about Targets registers, so they just allow every coupon to go through without adjusting down! Cool!

My total after coupons was $1.28
Paid with gift card
$0.00 OFP
Saved $78.69!! How awesome is that?!

I'm VERY excited about my donations! I'm just waiting on 2 more things to go on sale, then I will drop it all off.

Today I ran to Walmart for a few last minute turkey items and to get these....

That would be 30 cans of broth! For FREE!!! I LOVE FREE!! FREE FREE FREE! I LOVE the FREE!

Then we had a fun surprise delivered to us!!

OUR NEW TV!!!
We wern't expecting it to be delivered for another two weeks, so we don't have a stand yet. Looks like we will go shopping for one this weekend!
Its a 46" Sony Bravia. I don't know much more than that. Dave could tell ya all about it I'm sure, but not me.
This TV couldn't come at a better time, our old TV (which is 10 years old BTW) is starting to go all these crazy neon colors. So yeah, it was time.

Merry early Christmas to us!!!

Who else is SUPER EXCITED for Thanksgiving?!?!?
We won't be celebrating until Saturday. Dave has to workon Thursday, and I figured I'd be running around like a chicken with my head cut off on Friday, so we postponed until Saturday.

I decided to make two desserts. Both are new recipes and look FABULOUS!

This is a Cranberry Cheesecake! Doesn't it look beautiful?

Second is a pumpkin pie

I already have three frozen homemade pie crusts thanks to Miss Tallie, so these will be pretty easy to make!

I got the fuzzy Holiday feeling in my tummy! Gobble Gobble and Ho Ho Ho!

Yard Sale, Shopping, Gerber Party and a Date!!

It was another super busy weekend at the Trowbridge house!! We had a yard sale on Friday and Saturday (made a little over $200!), I had my Gerber party Saturday afternoon, THEN Dave and I went on a DATE! Like without the kids. Like we cut our own food up and not anyone else's! We went to Texas Roadhouse and then we went Christmas shopping. Kind of boring I know, but it was really nice spend time together.

I also managed to get a few shopping trips in all this craziness!

I went to CVS for the THIRD time this week!

I got 14 more Mentos gums (a few were swiped by Jakers)
And I got a few more Loreal lipsticks that were on 75%off!
Spent $0.35!!
Saved $53.74!!

So all in all this week at CVS I spent $0.61 for $194.00 worth of products! BEST.WEEK.AT.CVS.EVER!

Then I ran to Target

The campbells soup was on sale for $0.50ea and I ordered 15 $1/4 coupons from Ebay! So I was going to get 60 cans @ $0.25ea! But, I decided to only use 4 coupons and leave the other 11 on the shelf next to the soup so other families could take advantage of the deal.
The Airwick candles were free
The Kandoo wipes were $0.15
The floss was free
The body wash and secret D.O. were $0.50ea with the $5/1 olay coupon
The glade candles were $1.50ea AND I got a $5 gift card for buying them
The receipt for this trip is in the truck right now, so I cant tell ya how much I spent or saved, but it was a good trip!

THEN on Saturday, I woke up @ 5:30AM to go grocery shopping! It sucked waking up that early, but there was NO ONE at Walmart, so that was nice.

Ok, let me tell ya about this trip
Part of the reason I saved some of the Olay coupons for Walmart is because they will let you keep coupon overage. Which the Gerber formula is $6.24 at Walmart and I have $7 coupons. So $0.76 in overage towards the $0.97 D.O. from buying the Olay body wash is awesome!
So the 6 formulas were FREE (going to my donation)
The Swanson broth is on rollback for $0.50 and I have 15 $1/2 coupons! (still need to get 30 more but I was tired and didn't want to deal with 30 cans of broth. Due to the fact I was shopping @ 5:30AM!)
So after all my coupons I paid $0.74!!
Saved $75.29! Woo Hoo!

I just have a couple of places to go to this week. There aren't a whole lot of deals before "Black Friday".

And here are some pictures of the Gerber Party!

Shopping, Shopping and MORE Shopping!

It has been a SUPER AWESOME week for shopping! And its only going to get better once I get a few more coupons I'm waiting on!

I have also been getting a lot of great online deals, but most of them have been Christmas presents, so I can't share them with ya!!

Side note: I am still on some pain meds for my teeth, so if I ramble on or my grammar is bad, forgive me.

Ok, so I already mentioned this CVS trip,

Then last night I ran all around town trying to get all my shopping done.

I went to CVS first because I got my Mentos gum coupons in the mail and I heard the the L’Oreal make up was on clearance for 75% OFF! AND I had a $5/2 coupon! So I had to go check it out!

Glad I did because almost all the make up was gone!! The foundation was on clearance for $2.74ea so with the $5/2 coupon they were $0.24ea!! works for me!

The lipstick was on clearance for $2.69! after the $5/2 coupon they were $0.19ea! Woo Hoo! I love having all this makeup to play around with!

The gum was free with my coupons
So my total was $2.25 (I think the cashier forgot to scan one of my gum coupons)

-$2RR

= $0.25 OFP!

Saved $84.60!!

So I paid a quarter for all that! AWESOME!

Then it was off the Kohls
I had $15 in credit there so I wanted to see if I could find a Christmas gift for the boys

I came across this cute set of 12 sesame street books! Steven will LOVE this! I paid $1.06 after my credit!

Then I ran to the Childrens Place because they have their winter clothes 25% off and it just so happened they Emailed me a coupon for 30% off my entire purchase! I've been wanting to get the boys pics done, so I figured I needed to go see if there was anything good.

I'm going to dress them up in jeans with the shirts and sweaters! They were out of ties and hats, but they will still be cute!

And here are my Target transactions

Trans #1
Cake $0.89ea
Frosting $1.22ea
= $8.44
- $3 in coupons
- $5 gift card
= $0.44!!
Saved $9.92!

Trans #2

zq6PLBbF_FM/TOQMsWzHLII/AAAAAAAAAyA/iuqMUuDfSr0/s400/100_3405.JPG" border="0" />

10 Kandoo wipes @ $1.65ea (my stash from this summer is gone!)
- $25in coupons
= $11.05
Saved $34.90!!

Trans #3

Gerber formula $6.29ea but I received 20 HIGH VALUE coupons from my Gerber party pkg. So I grabbed 5 formulas for FREE! I don't needs this anymore, but it certainly can be donated.
The Toll house cookies are on sale $1.96ea with a $1.00 manu coupon and Target is printing a $1.00 cat after your first purchase. So the first pkg of cookies I paid $0.96 for then the rest were free between rolling the cat and manu coupon! Cool!

Spent $0.96
Saved $41.94!!

And speaking of my Gerber party.....

These are the boxes I received! Can you believe it?! All this for my party I'm hosting on Saturday!

They gave me TONS of free food, drinks, formula, rice cereal, plates, cups and TONS of high value coupons! I'm very excited!!

So for the rest of the week I'm going to be busy shopping, getting ready for our yard sale on Friday and Saturday, I have a follow up appointment with my Oral Surgeon, then my party on Saturday! AND, I'm even going on a date with my husband on Saturday night! Ahhh!
Sing with me! Its the most stressful...I mean wonderful time of the year!!!
Well that's all I got for now!
