We postponed Thanksgiving to Saturday for a couple of reasons, because Dave had to work and I figured I'd be running around snatching up black Friday deals. But the real reason I postponed? Because I was waiting for a package. A package my friends, that contained the number one thing I HAVE TO HAVE on Thanksgiving. Green Olives.
They are as much a part of Thanksgiving as the turkey. So when my package arrived on Friday morning I was MORE than thrilled! We had a green light for Turkey celebration!
Green Olives, the world may never understand the relationship Johnson children have with them. But that's ok. I don't need the world to understand. I just need my green olives. Period.
So, we started the day with donuts. Because that's how any good day starts. With a sugar crash....
(1 donut in and Steven is already crashing. Lightweight.)
Then we made these cute little turkeys for the kids
Then we cooked this....
The turkey was especially good this year. Not that I'm bragging or anything. Maybe a little....
I took this picture because I though it looked pretty..or maybe it reminded me of snow....
I LOVE this cranberry sauce. It is the perfect complement to turkey
Then we stuffed our faces!
Here are me and the kiddos post-Thanksgiving
(daddy isn't in the picture because he was asleep on the floor)
After daddy woke up we went SHOPPING!
I got this Thomas train set for $2.50! Originally $25.00! Great price!
I got this AWESOME Yo Gabba Gabba dance party DVD for $5 bucks at Target!
Then we went to Michaels because their ribbon was 70% off! I have to say I was disappointed. I was hoping to stock up big time. But I found only a few that I liked. The basket was 40% off and is perfect for our donation of pet food to the humane society.
While we were in Mcallen we stopped at a furniture outlet and found this...
A TV stand! Woo Hoo! Now Dave could FINALLY put up his new TV. It took us 2.5 hours to put together, but it was worth it.
Oh, and while we were putting together the TV stand we had some pie!
The cheesecake turned out great!
I LOVED the cheesecake! and Dave LOVED the pumpkin pie! So there ya go.
Hope yall had a good turkey day too!!
